Andreas Calier
Andreas Carlier joined the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides in the year 2021. Here, in addition to his work as a soloist in the orchestra, he is regularly involved in chamber music projects. Andreas can be heard on several CD recordings and has travelled the world with the orchestra with which he played concerts in the most renowned concert halls.
Andreas is also active as a freelance musician and has been a guest of several prominent orchestras, including: Royal
theatre La Monnaie/de Munt, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy (NL), Orchestra Royal Airforce (NL) Belgian Brass,… In these projects he performed under various world renowned conductors.
After winning an audition, in 2021 Andreas became a permanent member of the prestigious orchestra: European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) with which he toured through Europe. Within the brassband culture, Andreas is also active as a B-flat tuba player in the bass section of Brassband Willebroek. During this period the band managed to secure several (inter)national titles.
Andreas studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Bernd Van Echelpoel and Stephan Vanaenrode, where he graduated Maxima Cum Laude.
