John DiCesare
John DiCesare is the Principal Tubist of the Louisville Orchestra. Outside of Louisville DiCesare also performs regularly with orchestras nationwide; notably the Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, Pittsburgh Brass, Pittsburgh Opera, Colorado Music Festival, West Virginia Symphony, South Florida Symphony and Cleveland Orchestra Blossom Festival Band.John is also an active chamber musician being a founding member of the Pittsburgh Tuba Project with recent engagements at the International Tuba Euphonium Conference, Midwest Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference, West Virginia University, Rutgers University, Carnegie Mellon University and Michigan State University. As a soloist John was winner of the 2012 Pittsburgh Concert Society Competition, 2010 Tuesday Musical Society Competition and has performed the Vaughan Williams Tuba Concerto with the Duquesne University and Kent State University Orchestras.Outside of performing DiCesare is an active educator holding prior teaching positions at Kent State University and Cleveland State University.John’s teachers include Craig Knox, Tom Lukowicz, John Bottomley and he holds an Artist’s Diploma from Duquesne University, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Kent State University and is pursuing his Doctorate of Musical Arts at West Virginia University as a prestigiousSwiger Fellow.John resides in Louisville, Kentucky with his wife Amanda and dog Bentley.
